ADIDAS, ADIDAS HARDEN VOL. 4 SNEAKERS

Circa 2020
Only a small number of players can rightfully claim they helped revolutionize the game. NBA superstar James Harden is one of them.
After beginning his career as a role player on the Oklahoma City Thunder, Harden joined the Houston Rockets in 2012 and quickly developed into one of the most dangerous scorers in NBA history.
Harden shaped his unique game around other-worldly dribble moves, an uncanny ability to drive past defenders and draw fouls, and a lethal step-back three-point shot. Though Harden’s isolation-heavy style occasionally drew the ire of so-called basketball purists, no one could deny that ‘The Beard’s’ game translated into incredible success both on an individual and team level.
In fact, some of Harden’s moves were so crafty and borderline unfair, the NBA changed the rules to prevent players from earning foul calls via “non-basketball moves.”
In the 2018-19 NBA season, Harden averaged a league-leading 36.1 points per game, which marked the 8th highest scoring average in a season in NBA history and the highest since Michael Jordan averaged 37.1 points in 1986-87.
The following year, Harden once again led the league in scoring with a season average of 34.3 points per game. In total, Harden has won three scoring titles along with the 2018 NBA MVP award.
Sotheby’s is proud to present these Adidas Harden Vol. 4 sneakers worn by James Harden during his 3rd scoring title campaign on January 14, 2020. On that date, Harden and the Houston Rockets were defeated 121-110 by the Memphis Grizzlies at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee. Despite the loss, Harden put up a powerful performance with 41 points, 6 assists, and 6 rebounds.
The sneakers have been photomatched by The MeiGray Group and are accompanied by a photomatch letter and graphic.
