Description
NIKE, NIKE AIR JORDAN 7, SIZE 13
Rubber, Leather, Cotton
Circa 1992
Making its debut in the 1991-1992 NBA season, the Air Jordan VII model adorned the feet of basketball legend Michael Jordan during his triumphant journey to the gold medal with the renowned United States "Dream Team" at the 1992 Barcelona Summer Olympics.
In the following season, Jordan showcased his unparalleled skills by securing his seventh consecutive NBA scoring title with a remarkable 32.6 points per game average. Jordan rounded out the stat sheet averaging 6.7 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and an NBA-best 2.8 steals per game.
As a testament to this era of Jordan's dominance, Sotheby’s is pleased to present a 'professional model', dual-signed Air Jordan VII "Hare" sneakers, adorned with red accents and gray panels. The distinctive features include a red Jumpman logo embroidered on each ankle's exterior, Jordan's iconic number "23" in purple numerals on black and red triangles adorning each heel, and vibrantly patterned soles in red, black, yellow, and fluorescent green, complete with a purple Jumpman logo.
These sneakers are accompanied with a letter from James Spence Authentication in regards to the signature.
Released in 1992 as one of the Air Jordan 7 original colorways, the distinct scheme pays homage to Bugs Bunny. The world-famous character would star in the Jordan brand’s television advertisements and brought two icons together, expanding the market for the Air Jordan models beyond basketball.
