Naturalistically shaped into a furled plantain leaf, the present tray is a beautiful addition to the tea table. The natural spotting of the bamboo contrasts attractively with the black lacquer details, creating a strong aesthetic appeal to the piece. Compare a smaller example from the collection of Robert H. Ellsworth, illustrated in Mary Gardiner Neill, The Communion of Scholars: Chinese Art at Yale, China Institute, New York, 1982, p. 133, no. 59 f.

本盤芭蕉葉造型,巧用香妃竹天然斑紋與黑漆部份對比鮮明,置於茶几之上,美觀雅緻。比較 安思遠收藏小例,尺寸較小,圖載於 Mary Gardiner Neill,《The Communion of Scholars: Chinese Art at Yale》,華美協進社,1982年,頁133,編號59 f。
