well potted with a compressed globular body rising from a short foot and sweeping up to the tall cylindrical neck, covered overall in a rich blood-red glaze darkening to a liver-red tone at the base, the glaze thinning to a mushroom tone at the rim

I, pl. 157 (bottom center) and another with a slightly shorter neck, in the Baur Foundation, is illustrated in the revised Sekai Toji Zenshu, vol. 15, pl. 255, together with a black-glazed bottle in the Victoria and Albert Museum, pl. 251.
