Produced between 1952 and 1957, the rectangular wristwatch was nicknamed 'Cinese' by Italian collectors (Chinese) for its uniaue case architecture. The Wenger-made case conceals the caliber 9'''90, one of the period's best form movements.
The dial was made by Stern Frères and bears matching yellow gold and applied indexes.
The reference 2531 was available in yellow and pink gold, with only approimately 200 pieces made in total. Out of these few pieces, an estimated 25 yellow gold examples have come back to the market, making this a truly rare find.
The watch is accompanied by its Extract from the Archives confirming its date of sale on June 29, 1954.
