octagonal, the lid applied with an oval enamel plaque painted with fishermen by a river against a mountain scape and a ruined castle in the background, on a sablé gold ground within opaque cornflower blue and white enamel frames flanking a polished gold rim, blue enamel sides, the base centered with an oval striped enamel plaque, maker's marks FJ within three other marks, the base with a sunburst mark within sprigs, the right rim numbered: 3986, in modern leather case
