2 vols., 12mo (173 x 105 mm, uncut). Half-titles, 8 pp. publisher's advertisements dated Dec. 1st, 1842 at front of vol. 1, and 2 pp. at rear. Original drab boards, paper labels to spines; hinges cracked, a few stains and scuffs to covers, spine of vol. 1 split along rear joint, but holding at front. Each volume housed in a morocco-backed slipcase with folding cloth chemise. 

First collected edition, the Litchfield copy, scarce in original boards.
