A Spanish sword for a member of the Order of Santiago, circa 1880


with straight double-edged blade of flattened-hexagonal section, gilt-brass hilt, including quillon and knuckle-guard each cast with foliage and trophies-of-arms in low relief, pearl-stone ovoid pommel and grip, the latter applied with the enamelled red cross of the Order of Santiago, in its leather-covered wooden scabbard with engraved brass mounts
