LYING AT WHISKYBROKER LTD, SCOTLAND Offered In Bond only

As a single malt that is prone to being "teaspooned", it is rare to find a Laphroaig barrel that bears the name of the distillery. This Laphroaig cask not only carries its true name of origin, it is also one of the rare Laphroaig casks to be racked into a 1st fill Oloroso sherry cask.

Appearance: Natural orange wine with light haze

Nose: Pronounced peat smoke, Applewood smoke cheddar and Wensleydale with cranberries develops into sea shells and Singapore salted egg yoke crab. It is only lightly medicinal for a Laphroaig – more first aid box than hospital – yet the distillery character is more than evident, accompanied by the wisdom of 24 long years in oak.

Palate: Laphroaig smoke leads on the palate with briney pineapple and that Applewood smoked cheddar note from the nose returns before the flavours swing back like a pendulum - pineapple, brine, smoke. This whisky is certainly not short on the finish, and the Applewood smoke character is so persistent, yet absolutely enchanting

1 Barrel

The vintage of this Laphroaig cask is 1995, which was not noted in the lot description of the printed catalogue.
