Description
The Rolling Stones
Gold record presented by the RIAA for Between the Buttons, ca. 24 February 1967
Gold record record and plaque (overall 400 x 295 mm) with white linen mat; mat lightly browned and with dampstain at foot. Framed and glazed; not examined out of frame.
The gold record for the Stones' most eclectic album. Between the Buttons represented a departure for the band, with Brian Jones discarding his guitar in favor of other instruments for most of the album, and with songs that veered away from their blues-rock sound into more psychedelic and pop experiments. It was their last record to be produced by Andrew Loong Oldham, who resigned as the Stones manager after years of strained relations with the band.
