The dial on this watch is sure to excite collectors. The 16520 is the last Daytona and indeed one of the final Rolex watches to include significant variations across a single reference, with differences in dial marking huge differences in importance and desirability. Featuring a ‘floating’ cosmograph signature along with an inverted 6 on the 6 o’clock subdial, it can be concluded that this dial belonged to the very first batch ever produced for the 16520 and is extremely rare and sought after, being one of the very first dials produced for the first automatic Daytona. The present example is definitely for the collector who wishes to own the rarest dial iteration of the 16520 in black.
