delicately worked on one side to depict a luohan standing with a lion receiving an acolyte, below Avalokiteshvara flanked by a pair of acolytes, the reverse with two further manifestations of Avalokiteshvara, one riding a dragon and the other a phoenix, the integral swinging openwork bail handle ornately worked with acanthus leaves, the base with an apocryphal Qianlong Yuwan mark ('For the pleasure of the Imperial Qianlong Emperor'), the domed cover with flying bats and clouds below a finial of acanthus leaves securing loose rings, wood stand
