Inscribed A. Rodin and with the foundry mark Alexis. Rudier Fondeur. Paris; stamped with the raised signature A. Rodin (on the interior)

Height (not including base): 12 in. (30.3 cm)

Conceived in 1892 and in this bust format in 1918; the present work cast between 1918 and 1927.

This work will be included in the forthcoming Catalogue Critique de l'oeuvre sculpté d'Auguste Rodin being currently prepared by Galerie Brame & Lorenceau under the direction of Jérôme Le Blay under the archive number 2005-743B.
