A similar overmantel mirror hung in the Pierce Nichols House in Salem, Massachusetts and is pictured in Edgar G. Miller, Jr., American Antique Furniture, pl. 1231, p. 673. Wood samples from the reverse side were sent to Harry Alden for testing and determined to be red pine.
