Executed in 1977, this is a unique work made out of three pages from an edition of 18 plus 6 numbered artist's proofs plus a few unnumbered artist's proofs.

Joseph Beuys created the multiple "Minneapolis Fragments" during his first visit to America in January 1974, as part of his "Energy Plan for the Western Man" lecture tour. This work consists of 3 of the 12 lithographs derived from Beuys' lecture at the University of Minnesota's architecture school. Instead of using a blackboard, Beuys illustrated his ideas by writing and drawing on six zinc printing plates during the talk. When arranged in a grid, the lithographs provide a mirror-image facsimile of Beuys' lecture drawings, capturing his complex ideas on topics ranging from history and economics to art and social organization.

Joseph Beuys a créé les multiples Minneapolis Fragments lors de sa première visite aux États-Unis en janvier 1974, dans le cadre de sa tournée de conférences intitulée « Energy Plan for the Western Man ». Cette œuvre comprend trois des douze lithographies issues de la conférence donnée par Beuys à l'école d'architecture de l'université du Minnesota. Au lieu d'utiliser un tableau noir, Beuys a illustré ses idées en écrivant et en dessinant sur six plaques d'impression en zinc pendant la conférence. Disposées en grille, les lithographies offrent un aperçu des dessins de la conférence de Beuys, capturant ses idées complexes sur des sujets allant de l'histoire et de l'économie à l'art et à l'organisation sociale.
