8vo (209 x 135 mm). First edition, second issue (with "Miscellaneous" spelled correctly on contents leaf A3), lacking half-title and ads; lightly foxed. Half calf over marbled paper boards, blind ruled, spine gilt in 6 compartments, marble edges and endpapers; somewhat rubbed.  

Writing to his publisher in the September of 1819, Shelley remarked of Prometheus Unbound, "it is in my judgement, of a higher character than anything I have yet attempted; and is perhaps less an imitation of any thing that has gone before it."
