Attributed to the Iwato Ichimonji school
Kamakura period, late 14th century
Sugata [configuration]: Shinogi-zukuri, iori-mune, deep koshi zori, ko-kissaki
Kitae [forging pattern]: Mokume hada with jinie, chikei and some utsuri
Hamon [tempering pattern]: Ko-nie choji-midare with kinsuji and ashi
Boshi [tip]: Ko-maru
Nakago [tang]: O-suriage, three mekugi-ana, mumei
Habaki [collar]: Gold, double clad
In shirasaya [plain wood scabbard]
Koshirae [mount]: Of later date, the fine sprinkled aogai lacquer saya [scabbard] with ribbed surface near the tsuba, nanako shakudo fittings with gilt details in high relief, fuchi-kashira [collar and pommel] decorated with chrysanthemums, tsuba inlaid in gilt with chrysanthemum and pine
