Otto Fröhlicher studied at the Munich Academy under Johann Gottfried Steffan and continued his studies in Düsseldorf under the influence of Oswald Achenbach. When he returned to Munich, he was inspired by the work of Adolf Heinrich Liers.
Fröhlicher’s works can now be found in the Musées des Beaux-Arts in both Bern and Soleure, the Kunsthaus in Zurich and the Neue Pinakothek in Munich. There is a work similar to this one in the Kunstmuseum Solothurn in Switzerland (inv. GKS 333).

Otto Fröhlicher a étudié à l’Académie de Munich sous la direction de Johann Gottfried Steffan. Il a poursuivi ses études à Düsseldorf sous l’influence d'Oswald Achenbach. De retour à Munich, il s’inspire du travail d’Adolf Heinrich Liers.
Les œuvres de Fröhlicher sont aujourd’hui présentes dans les musées des Beaux-Arts de Berne et de Soleure, le Kunsthaus de Zürich et la Neue Pinakothek de Munich. Une œuvre similaire à celle-ci est présente dans la collection du Kunstmuseum Solothurn en Suisse (inv. GKS 333).
