Van Ghindertalen collection (according to a wax seal on the reverse).
This tavern interior may record the composition of a now-lost original by Adriaen van Ostade. A comparable drawing by Adriaen van Ostade is known,1 as is a related print.2 On the reverse of the panel, there is a 17th century wax seal belonging to the Van Ghindertalen family.
