References 6263 and 6265 began production in the early 1970s. The bezel type differentiated the two from one another, with reference 6263 featuring an acrylic bezel and reference 6265, like the present lot, fitted with a metal bezel.
The 6263 and 6265 models are further distinguished from their preceding references by the introduction of larger, screw-down chronograph pushers and winding crown and the addition of 'Oyster' signed to the dial. The introduction of these attributes marked the standard for all future references and are still utilized on Daytona models to this day.
The present example is in very good condition, giving off a sporty, yet elegant aesthetic.
