The ebonized wood base with musical movement with two tunes and three levers for control, signed Martinet & Benoit of Geneva.

An identical clock is in the Swedish royal collection. It was exhibited and illustrated, Un age d'or des arts decoratifs 1814-1848, Paris, October-December 1991, no.157, pp. 303-304; another is at Petrodvoretz (Peterhoff Museum) which had been the summer residence of Peter the Great.
