An attribution to Francesco Celebrano (1729–1814) has been suggested by Prof. Nicola Spinosa on the basis of digital images.

Francesco Celebrano was a royal painter and sculptor to the court of King Ferdinand IV of Naples from the second half of the eighteenth century. He was also director of the Royal Porcelain Factory in Naples and tutor to the Duke of Calabria and other princes of the royal house.
