A collection of seven works published 1629-1640, comprising:


i. Achesone, James. The military garden, or instructions for all young souldiers. Edinburgh: John Wreittoun, 1629, soiled, ?lacks a folding plate, [ESTC S100407; Cockle 120]

ii. [Loque, B. de]. Discourses of warre, and single combat. Translated out of French by I. Eliot. London, 1631lacking G2 (second title page), various defects (staining, soiling, cropping, etc.), [ESTC S112740 (3 copies); Cockle 52 (1591 ed.)]

iii. Markham, Gervase. [The souldiers exercise. 1639], 3 parts (comprising: Souldiers accidence, 1635, and Souldiers grammar, 2 parts, 1639), a few woodcuts in final part including one folding plate, without the general title noted in ESTC, final part slightly stained and wormed, upper outer corner cut throughout with minimal loss at end, [ESTC S112105]
