FIRST EDITION OF THIS CLASSIC WORK ON "NEARLY ALL BRANCHES OF THE MILITARY ART" (Cockle), based on both the author's own experiences and observations (he had served extensively in the Netherlands in the 1630s) as well as the best sources available in the field at the time.
