The Schuttersgilde Sint-Sebastiaan (St. Sebastian’s Archers Guild) is an archers’ guild in Belgium that has already been in existence for more than 600 years. The hand bow archers of St. Sebastian's are believed to have fought in crusades as their coat of arms includes the Cross of Jerusalem, and with the Golden Spurs in a battle for sovereignty from French rule which took place in 1302 between the Kingdom of France and the County of Flanders. Members of St. Sebastian's guild are exclusively men, 165 male members to be exact, and with two Royal exceptions: Queen Mathilde of Belgium and the Queen of England.
A similar example is illustrated in E. Mannoni, Mobilier de Belgique et de la Flandre Française, Paris, 2001, p.46.
