The now closed Elmwood Mine of Carthage, Tennessee was a prolific producer of exquisite Fluorite on Sphalerite specimens for many years. The sharp cubic habit, with complex surface features, contrasts nicely with the dark and lustrous reddish brown of the Sphalerite group at the base of the specimen. Inclusions of bitumen can be seen as black inclusions that fluoresce a vibrant yellow-green.
