This film was directed by Emilio Fernández and co-written by Fernández and José Revueltas. It stars Fanny Cano as Leonor - a young and beautiful prostitute in an Acapulco brothel, whose former lover, who is in love with her has just escaped from prison, and wants to take her away from her life at the brothel. However, Leonor is indebted to the Madame, and this stands in the way of the new life that they want to live.

Rafael López Castro was a self-taught Mexican designer, who was part of the Madero Group under the direction of Vicente Rojo, who directed the design department of the Fondo de Cultura Económica (1978-1986). Castro was invited to preside over the jury of the second International Biennial of the Poster in Mexico in 1992 and was awarded the Quorum Award for Professional Merit in 1999, and the Arts Award of Jalisco in 2000. Castro designed this super stylish graphic poster for this Mexican film.
