NIKE, NIKE MESH JERSEY, SIZE 48 (+6 LENGTH)

14,211 points. It took Giannis Antetokounmpo 652 games across nine seasons to pass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s Milwaukee Bucks Franchise Scoring record, which had stood since 1975. Abdul-Jabbar would go on to break the NBA’s All-Time scoring record and hold onto it until Lebron James broke it in February of 2023.

The shot that Antetokounmpo broke the record with was a testament to just how dominant he had become since he entered the league in 2013 - a slick crossover dribble into a stepback three-pointer that tied the game with under 20 seconds to go in the 4th quarter. Yet another reminder of the multidimensional offensive weapon that Antetokounmpo is.

He was not finished that night. Giannis would go on to hit the two game-winning free throws in overtime to close out the Brooklyn Nets, 120-119 at the Barclays Center.

When asked about the moment after the game, Antetokounmpo emphasized the importance of staying humble despite success.

"I want myself to stay humble. I feel like the more humble I can get, the more hungry I stay, the more things I can accomplish, the more art I can create.”

Antetokounmpo finished the game with 44 points, 14 rebounds, 6 assists and 1 steal.

Sotheby’s is proud to present the jersey Giannis Antetokounmpo wore when he set the Milwaukee Bucks’ All-Time Scoring Record.

The jersey was also matched to two additional games:

  • March 12, 2022, during the 1st half, when the Bucks played the Golden State Warriors. Antetokounmpo finished with 31 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 block. The Bucks lost to the Warriors, 122-109.

  • March 26, 2022, when the Bucks played the Memphis Grizzlies. Antetokounmpo finished with 30 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 blocks. The Bucks lost to the Grizzlies, 127-102.

Going Deeper | Giannis Antetokounmpo

Nicknamed the ‘Greek Freak’ because of his home country and freakish athleticism, Giannis Antetokounmpo is arguably the league’s most dominant player. Beginning his professional career with the Milwaukee Bucks after being selected 15th overall in the 2013 NBA Draft, Antetokounmpo quickly emerged as a game-changing player with his extraordinary athleticism and versatility.

At just 29 years old, Antetokounmpo’s resume is already Hall of Fame worthy. He won back-to-back league MVPs in 2018-2019 and 2019-2020. He was also named Defensive Player of the Year in the latter season. Following the 2020-2021 season, Giannis added an NBA Finals MVP and All-Star Game MVP to his trophy case. His 50-point and 14-rebound performance in the series-clinching Game 6 of the 2021 NBA Finals is one of the greatest individual NBA Finals game performances of all time.

Antetokounmpo is an 8-time NBA All-Star, a 5-time All-NBA 1st Team member, a 2-time All-NBA 2nd Team member, and has been named to 5 NBA All-Defensive Teams.
