The present lot was likely part of Tiffany's display at the 1902 Esposizione Internazionale d'Arte Decorativa Moderna in Turin, Italy.
This colorful yet subtle vase was probably made for the 1902 Esposizione Internazionale d’Arte Decorativa held in Turin, Italy. The opaque bright yellow body has meandering goldish brown trailings throughout. It was further enhanced by snipping and embedding small bits of molten red glass onto the exterior and marvering them into the upper half of the vase. Once the glass had cooled and annealed, an engraver finely cut stylized prunus blossoms, a motif that directly reflects the influence of Japanese art on Louis Tiffany’s aesthetics.
