Description

Arabic manuscript on polished paper, 252 leaves plus 1 fly-leaf, 16 lines to the page, written in neat and angular naskh script in black ink, remargined in the 19th century Qajar period, original verse markers in the form of gold rosettes, elongated and star-shaped markers indicating khams and 'ashr, remnants of other marginal illumination, colophon with preserved U-shaped strap work vegetal bands, opening illuminated double-page frontispiece, indications of original juz ' markers written in thuluth, surah headings re-illuminated, one original example preserved, folio numbers and catchwords in lower corners, several later handwritten notes in Arabic and Persian, later Qajar-period lacquer binding
