Cartier introduced its Haute Horlogerie collection in 2008. Two years later, in 2010, the presented the Astrotourbillon. This highly complicated piece embarks the calibre 9451MC, which took 5 years to be developped by the Chaud-de-fonds manufacture.

The particularity of this movement is the special rotational axis at the centre of the movement. The tourbillon orbits around the dial and further indicates the seconds. Visually, the tourbillon is not integrated in the movement as it is traditionally the case. Instead, it floats between two dials. This was only made possible thanks to a counter-weight in platinum that is hidden under the central dial.

This impressive example is presented in superb condition.
