Description

with a circular top on a "jaune Nankin" background, with six porcelain plaques representing scenes of "the history of Love" from Evariste Fragonard (1783-1850), Le Triomphe de la rivale, l'Infidélité, l'Abandon, la Volupté éteint le flambeau de l'Amour, la Raison conseille et l'Amour entraîne, and la Lutte, marques en creux "E", "Ch" possibly for Chamoux and "B" for Charles-Nicolas Brachart and mark for 1817, the frieze adorned with palms and rosaces, on three griffons-shaped feet, on a portor marble and gilt-bronze base with acanthus leaves
