As one of the most influential artists of her generation, Laura Owens has uniquely redefined the classic way of painting by challenging the traditional approaches. Not only the merging of the various field of art history, but also the appearance of the work and itself within the room is one of her primary experimental thoughts.

The present work, Untitled from 2013, is one of these integral works, behind the painted sheet hides a clockwork, transforming it in a so to speak functional painting.
