Jaqueline Powers is a Miami-based jewelry brand founded by Vince Gerardis, who is best known as the co-executive producer of Game of Thrones, a series that won Emmy Awards for Outstanding Drama Series in 2015, 2016, and 2018. Vince also played a crucial role in House of the Dragon, which claimed the 2023 Golden Globe Award for Best Drama Series. Though his is a renowned name in television, Mr. Gerardis’ connection to the world of jewelry is a lesser-known facet of his story. His affinity for gemstones runs deep and was shaped by personal history. His grandfather was a diamond-seller, and Vince himself spent years as a diamond dealer, trading and importing precious stones.
The idea for the brand was sparked when Mr. Gerardis met designer Corina Tahuil, who heads the Creative Team. They decided to create a line that combined their respective passions for gemstones and for jewelry design and decided to name it after Mr. Gerardis’ mother, Jacqueline Powers, a name that Ms. Tahuil says “resonated with both of us for its strength and elegance--qualities that would define our brand."
Jaqueline Powers jewels aim to combine tradition with innovation.
The three pieces in the Important Jewels sale are from the brand’s inaugural Winter Collection. Corina Tahuil explains, “Winter, historically viewed as a season of quiet elegance, has inspired artists and designers for centuries. The season’s muted palette, with its soft shadow grays, delicate blues and frosty silvers, symbolizes introspection, purity and timeless beauty across cultures. These qualities became the foundation of our Winter Collection. We’ve drawn from this serene yet powerful color scheme to craft pieces that evoke the stillness and strength of winter. Carefully selected gray or gray-blue diamonds mirror the soft hues of winter skies and icy landscapes. To complement these stones, we’ve chosen titanium, a metal celebrated not only for its durability, but for its extraordinary naturally occurring colors, which reflect the quiet brilliance of winter’s allure. The result is a collection that feels both timeless and uniquely ours.”
