Description
A Yellow Model of a US Navy Trainer Aircraft
height 15½in.; width 65 in.; length 50 in.
39.5 cm; 165 cm; 127 cm
This model depicts a North American T-28B Trojan, a military trainer aircraft developed for the United States Air Force and the United States Navy in the early 1950s. Although the Air Force phased out the aircraft from pilot training by the early 1960s, the Navy, which would have operated units bearing liveries like the one painted on this model, used them through the early 1980s. This model bears the markings of VA-122, an attack squadron of the U.S. Navy, which was assigned T-28Bs like this one to their home port of Naval Air Station North Island in 1959.
