A pair of Fukagawa style vases
Taisho period, early 20th century
each oviform with everted neck, decorated in iron red, yellow and black enamels and gilt on underglaze blue, with a central panel depicting peonies among rock and fencework, surrounded by swirling geometric bands, variously containing seigaiha, karakusa and kikko, later mounted as lamps, dark patinated wood stands
each 32 cm., 12½ in. high (the vases)
each 68.5 cm., 26⅞ in. high (including lampshade and stand)
