A GROUP OF SIX SCARF PINS, LATE 19TH/20TH CENTURY
the first with a gold double-headed Imperial Eagle terminal centred with a garnet cabochon, in the style of Fabergé, in a silk-lined case; the second with labradorite terminal carved as the face of the devil, rose diamond eyes, complete with pin clasp, in fitted brown leather case, the silk lining with stamped jeweller's label: 'Leysons JEWELLERS SALT LAKE CITY'; the third with gold terminal in the form of a grimacing face, one rose diamond eye, in fitted case, the silk lining printed: 'C.R. Smith & Son Philadelphia; the fourth gold, the small circular top engraved and enamelled with the cypher of Prince Edward, Prince of Wales, later Duke of Windsor (1894-1972), complete with pin clasp, in fitted green morocco case with impressed case maker's mark K for Kitz, the interior with printed silk lining: 'GARRARD & Co., Ltd. Goldsmiths, Jewellers, &c. TO THE KING By Special Appointment TO THE CROWN, Haymarket, London.'; the fifth with a jewelled crown above a strawberry enamel border, in the style of Fabergé, spurious marks; the top of the sixth set with a small silvered commemorative medallion with profiles of Napoleon Bonaparte, Maria Louisa of Austria and their son, Napoleon François-Joseph Charles, in fitted case, the burgundy silk lining gilt-stamped: 'E. & M. GOLDSTON Watch Makers and Jewellers 28 South Bridge, EDINBURGH'
