Please note the updated condition report: Dial: Dial in overall good condition. Hands relumed in our view. Lume plots lacking at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock but the rest react well under UV. Some surface spotting visible throughout consistent with age. Outermost perimeter with some more visible patina between 11 -1, and within the engine-turned subsidiary dials.

Reference 6238, also known as the "Pre-Daytona", is the immediate predecessor of the first Cosmograph Daytona - reference 6239. Interestingly, they were made concurrently for a handful of years, with Ref 6238 serial numbers running as late as 1968, (circa 1.69m serial numbers), and Ref 6239 examples displaying serial numbers as early as 922k from 1963. This Rolex chronograph bears an early 1m serial dating back to 1964, featuring a silvered sunburst dial and stainless-steel Oyster bracelet. The present example is fresh to the market, and has been worn lovingly throughout the years.
