Jaeger-LeCoultre is famous for producing alarm watches ever since it launched the Memovox model in 1950. “Memovox reminds, notifies and wakes up” read the tag line used in an advertisement from back then. Being a very utilitarian watch, the design was kept clean and simple.
After the Quartz Crisis, Jaeger-LeCoultre developed a new alarm watch in combination with the complication of a perpetual calendar. The result is the present Grand Revéil model released in 1989 and cased exclusively in precious metal.
