Description
Château Talbot 1996
St. Julien, 4ème Cru Classé
Levels bn or into the neck, 1 slightly scuffed label, 1 nicked label
In 2018, an absolutely splendid nose, in line with the 1986, but younger of course, and truly Talbot. There is opulence here, plus layers of exciting perfume. Massive in the mouth, oozing black fruit, liquorice and glycerol. The texture is all-enveloping, the structure perfect, the fruit, acidity and tannin in total harmony. Set for a long life, but so approachable now, with its coffee and chocolate lusciousness. In 2019 and from magnum, this has wonderful scent and textbook classic structure - very impressive indeed.
