Ruby and diamond pendant
(Pendente in rubini e diamanti)
Set with an oval shaped ruby of 9.70 carats approximately within a frame of circular-cut diamonds, supporting a similarly set detachable ruby pendant of 2.80 carats approximately, accompanied by an SSEF report no. 106766, stating that both rubies are of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating.

Formerly in the Collection of Count Carlo Gandini, owner of Villa Gaia Gandini one of the oldest buildings along the Milanese Navigli. The Villa was built during the fifteenth century, it is among one of the first buildings in Milan to be made according to the specifications of a villa. the Estate has passed through the Italian aristocratic families including Visconti, Borromeo, Biglia, Confalonieri and today is managed by Gandini's family heirs.
