Arabic manuscript, 302 leaves plus 5 fly-leaves, 15 lines to the page, written in naskh in black ink, ruled in black and gold, the outer borders filled with gold scrolling flowers throughout, verses separated by varied gold florets, surah headings in white within gold cartouches decorated with polychrome foliate, gold and polychrome verse markes in the margins, f.2b and 3a with a polychrome and gold incipit frame, preceding double page and finispiece illumination possibly later, in brown leather binding with gilt-stamped and tooled decoration with scrolling borders, doublures decorated with large roses, with flap

Another Qur’an copied by Hafiz Mehmed al-Farid, dated 1227 AH/1812 AD, was sold in Christie’s London, 20 July 1995, lot 207.
