Condition
-Several areas on the painting appears to have been restored, on three of the faces of the people, and one of the hands, which may have been deliberate by the artist, and one circular area near the upper border which was restored. Otherwise, generally in good condition and original mounting. A small stain could be found near the left border.

註：李研山筆墨師法前賢，出入古人，上溯宋元，以迄明清，法度深嚴，意境蒼古，與前人契合。〈長林消夏圖〉乃文徵明七十歲時之作，「虛白齋」舊藏，現歸香港藝術館。畫中寫園林逭暑，桐蔭垂柳，假山陳設，佈局井然，一片清幽。而用筆工緻細秀，極盡「細文」之能事。研山臨此，正值壯歲之年，形神俱攝，逼近真迹，足見師古功力之高，亦可補其三十年代作品流傳稀少之缺。
本幅保存當時裝裱，畫中個別人物開臉見修補痕迹，或未符其意，畫家自行修飾添改。署簽出自香港著名書法篆刻家羅叔重手筆，他與研山交誼甚厚，為其治印及題跋頗多。
