Pablo Picasso, 'Femme Assise Sur Une Chaise'

New York | November 2015

Picasso’s daring depiction of his lover Dora Maar dates to 1938, just one year after he painting Guernica. Enthroned in a chair and bejewelled in emerald green dress, the portrait, like many of Picasso’s favourites, remained with the artist until his death.
