On 20 May, guests gathered in the East End of Long Island for late afternoon cocktails and an exclusive preview of WYETH: The Art of Timeless Design sale, hosted by Michael Bruno, Sotheby’s and WYETH, the visionary source for impeccable craftsmanship and design. After a celebrated collaboration last summer, Sotheby’s and WYETH have come together again this season to create a postwar design collection rooted in the coastal environment of WYETH’s Sagaponack gallery space. “Here we slow down, relax, commune and connect,” said WYETH founder John Birch, who was in attendance for the festivities along with Sotheby’s Jodi Pollack, Senior Vice President Co-Worldwide Head of 20th Century Design. With cocktails in hand, guests mingled amid the curated selection of Scandinavian, American mid-century, and Italian design objects, which will be featured in the upcoming 6 June Auction.
