These first editions re-covered will be sold to benefit House of Illustration. The UK’s only public space dedicated to illustration, the Gallery was founded by Sir Quentin Blake in 2014. It exists to champion, celebrate and explore illustration in all its forms, placing it at the heart of contemporary visual culture.

“I first came across Animal Farm by accident: our mother read it to my brother and I, then about 7 and 8 (!), thinking it was just another children’s book. She then wanted to stop, but we begged her to continue, all the way to the bleak and strange ending. What was it about?
