Condition
The canvas is original. There is very minor abrasion at the extreme edges in a few places. There are two or three isolated areas with a few fine lines of craquelure in the red pigment to the right of centre, with a few scattered more minor instances elsewhere. There is a faint diagonal scuff at the upper edge to the left of centre, with one or two more minor instances elsewhere. There is light surface dirt to the work and a few minor instances of detritus or surface matter. This excepting, the work appears in very good overall condition. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals fluorescence in keeping with the Artist's working methods but no obvious signs of retouching. The work is held within a wooden slip frame.
