- The Embroidered Curtain (Kennedy 410; Glasgow 451)
- signed with the butterfly and inscribed imp in pencil (on the tab at lower left)
- etching printed in dark brown, printing with warm, selectively wiped plate tone, a proof impression between Kennedy's fifth and sixth states (of seven), Glasgow's seventh state (of ten), on laid paper with a Strasbourg Lily watermark (S. S. T. 295)
- sheet: 23.8 by 15.9cm.; 9 3/8 by 6 1/4 in.
- Executed in 1889, there was no published edition of this work, Glasgow cites 27 impressions.
Condition
Trimmed by the artist to the plate mark on two sides with a thread margin at right and narrow margin at upper sheet edge, leaving a signature tab below, in good condition, the upper sheet edge with two minor repaired tears (the tissue fibres just showing through recto), a few small fox marks mostly visible verso, framed. (Pencil inscriptions verso).
