Description
Of double ribbon bow design set with cushion-shaped and circular-cut diamonds, second half of the 18th century, supporting a detachable pendant set with a pear-shaped diamond of yellow tint, probably early 19th century.
Provenance
The double ribbon bow from Marie Antoinette, Queen of France (1755-1793). “2. Un écrin en cuir rouge écarlate, contenant un nœud en diamants avec pendeloque gros diamant jaune, le nœud fait parti du diadème ou ceinture ci-dessus, et a la même provenance”.

Condition
Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 15.00 - 16.00 carats, on average J-L colour, VS-SI clarity, a few I, Included clarity, as gauged and graded in the mount. The pear-shaped diamond drop measuring approximately 16.20 x 13.30 x 8.00mm, calculated to weigh approximately 11.50 carats. Signs of wear to the metal with evidence of tarnish consistent with age. Secure clasp. In good condition. Total gross weight 18 grams.
