- with a note inscribed: Hand / meiner Tochter Adelheid (Hand of my daughter Adelaide) in ink
- white marble, on a velvet lined pillow, on a veined cream marble base
- hand: 7 by 27.5cm., 2¾ by 10¾in. base: 2.5 by 28 by 15cm., 1 by 11 by 5 7/8 in.

Condition
Overall the condition of the marble hand is good, with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There are a few minor naturally occurring inclusions to the marble, some of which have darkened. The hand is attached to the velvet pillow, which has been reinforced with a stone slab and plaster. The pillow is loose on the veined marble base. The base is in good condition overall, with some minor chips and abrasions to the edges and corners.
